Physico-chemical Characterization of Some Metal Complexes Formed by Substituted Thiourea

In view of unique physico-chemical observations affecting the geometry and various properties substituted thiourea complexes in literature along with several biological activities, N-(hydroxy)-N,N-diphenyl was taken up for study. Complexes geometries high spin octahedral iron(II), cobalt(II); tetrahedral & square planar nickel(II); dimeric copper chloride, perchlorate, acetate distorted nitrate were synthesized characterized based on magnetic moments, visible spectra, diffuse reflectance electron resonance, infrared spectral studies, thermal analysis.
 Interestingly, nature anion influenced geometry, complex from salt resulted a structure formed exhibited sub-normal highly insoluble most common organic solvents water. Based these data, polymeric or square-planar sulfur bridging between atoms is proposed. It confirmed by application Bleaney-Bower’s equation susceptibility, applicable to complexes.
 The overall behavior ligand observed detailed calculations interestingly lead confirmation above proposed geometrical structures.
